Cardiovascular Disease
The study of blood type has led to an important breakthrough in the way we must view cardiovascular (CV) disease. Although the health of the CV system depends on a complex blend of many factors, including diet, exercise, stress and the effects of other diseases, we now understand that a very important aspect, involves genetics- including the genetics of blood type.
Your blood type can influence the workings of your cardiovascular system in several ways. For example, there is a particularly strong correlation between blood type and the ability to metabolise dietary fats and oils. Blood type has been shown to influence the viscosity (thickness) of the blood, which has powerful implications with regard to circulation.
The different ABO blood types have varying level of “normal” cholesterol in the blood vessel walls-allowing for attachment of white blood cells and the subsequent inflammation that we know is crucial to artery damage. Blood type genetics also play a role in your chemical response to stress. Since stress is an important risk factor for heart disease, the blood type- specific variations in the response to stress can become a key factor in cardiac health. Of course, not every risk factor for heart disease has a blood type component.
For example, a nutrient poor diet or smoking will increase your odds of developing CV disease, no matter what your blood type. The bottom line is that there are several pathways, too, to heart disease. Carole will teach you how you can lower your cholesterol, blood pressure and risks for developing CV disease in a natural healthy way that will also enhance your general health. Awareness and knowledge of blood group dynamics is the key to employing the right protocols for you as an individual.
